Region of Thessaly

The vineyard of Thessaly ranks 6th on the wine map of Greece among the 9 wine-growing regions, occupying 5.9% of the Greek vineyard. It also holds the 6th place in terms of the number of wines - producing 231 wines which include many PGI and PDO wine labels. Vine, wine and tsipouro are concepts that are absolutely intertwined with Thessaly and especially with the mountainous areas surrounding the Thessalian plain.
