Greece: Background, Classics & Novelties
May 16, 12:30
Masterclass Theatre
As the popularity of Greek Wine is seeing a constant growth in the UK market and the consumers are called to explore a larger variety of its offering, the session aims to provide an overview of its star grape varieties alongside others that have been hardly heard of, geographical unique points and versatility of wine styles through the work of 4 distinguished wineries.
Expect to taste authentic wines made in the vineyard by the growers themselves and showing as much grape typicity and terroir expression as the will to break moulds and redefine the individual grape variety's potential and Greek Wine as a whole.
Assyrtiko, Savatiano, Roditis, Vidiano, Xinomavro & Mandilaria will be amongst the grape varieties to be tasted alongside the most rare Koniaros.
The participating wineries stretch throughout Greece's diverse landscape, from Crete to Serres and demonstrate a track record of sustainable practices, commitment to their vineyards' future and consistently high quality wines, vintage after vintage.
The winemakers will be there to talk their path and mission, take questions from the participants and lead the discussion on Greek Wine's background, present work & future goals.
This session requires pre-registration.
