Te Awanga Estate is a family owned wine business located the East Coast of the North Island, New Zealand. The business was borne out of a love of making wine and inspired by the place it calls home, Hawke’s Bay. In 2006 Rod McDonald began searching out great vineyard sites that would eventually supply the grapes to make the great wines of the future. Te Awanga, with its sea views and breezes, coastal loams and salty air, turned out to be the place where everything started to make sense. Te Awanga has an enduring purpose: to grow, harvest and craft world class wines. And smile while doing it.
